Vietnam is planning to continue its massive transport development programme. In 2024, work will start on 19 transport projects including 11 expressways, such as those linking Lo T with Rach Soi, Cho Moi with Bac Kan and Dau Giay with Tan Phu. Eight rail lines will also be improved according to the plans from the Ministry of Transport.
Other priority road projects include the expressways connecting Cam Lam with Vinh Hao, phase one of the expressway from Dien Chau to Bai Vot and the North-South Expressway East expressway.
Three National Highways in the Mekong Delta will be improved at a cost of US$386 million. Around 2/3rds of the funding will be provided by the World Bank while the Vietnam Government will provide the remaining 1/3rd. Work will be carried out to National Highway 53, National Highway 62 and National Highway 91B.
