New highways will be built in India following the signing of a deal between the World Bank (WB) and the Indian Government to ensure funding. This will help deliver key financing for India’s Green National Highway Corridors Project (GNHCP).
The project is expected to cost a total of US$1.28 billion, with a loan package of $500 million having been assured by the signing of the deal. The GNHCP involves the construction of 781km of highways. Work will be carried out in Andhra Pradesh State, Himachal Pradesh State, Uttar Pradesh State and Rajasthan State.
