Funding has been secured for two motorway widening projects in Morocco. The two sections are close to the city of Casablanca, with one for the 26km Casa-Berrechid stretch and the other for the 32km bypass for Mohammed V International Airport. Funding worth US$92.3 million is being provided by the European Investment Bank (EIB). The construction work is expected to take 36 months to carry out and will boost capacity on the routes, which both suffer heavy congestion at peak periods at present.
