Seymour Whyte has won two important road contracts in East Australia

Construction work worth US$227.5 million (A$340 million) in Australia will be handled by contractor Seymour Whyte.

The New South Wales State Department for Transport awarded a contract to widen a 3.8km stretch of road linking with Sydney Airport. This forms part of the wider project to deliver the toll-free Sydney Gateway motorway that links the airport precinct, Port Botany and the surrounding road network to the newly opened St Peters Interchange.

Meanwhile, in Melbourne, Victoria State Seymour Whyte won a contract to upgrade the Clyde Road Bridge. This project will be carried out for the north-south arterial route over the Princes Freeway in Berwick, southeast Melbourne. This work will help improve traffic flow and safety by upgrading a 1.2 km section of Clyde Road, adding additional lanes between the Princes Freeway and Kangan Drive and widening the existing Clyde Road bridge over the freeway. It also includes upgrading the Clyde Road/Kangan Drive intersection, constructing new and upgrading existing shared walking and cycling paths and installing new street lighting, road signage, drainage, and landscaping.

Seymour Whyte is the Australian subsidiary of French firm Vinci.
