Dana shows HVT R3 at INTERMAT
Dana Rexroth Transmission Systems’ HVT R3 is the first of a series of hydro-mechanical variable transmissions resulting from the 50-50 joint venture between Dana and Bosch Rexroth AG. The R3 is for wheeled loaders with engine outputs of up to 265kW and uses a combination of hydrostatic and mechanical drives to offer fuel savings of up to 20%. Cleverly, the HVT R3 will allow the operator to preset a maximum travel speed, or preselect a fixed engine rpm and use the transmission’s characteristics to keep the
Ideal Controls for road paving materials testing
Italian firm Controls has put all its long-standing knowledge of road paving material testing into Dynapave, launched this week at INTERMAT. The Dynapave testing system includes the 78-B7030 model, exhibited at the show, which is a servo-pneumatic dynamic testing system with 30kN capacity that examines indirect tensile stiffness, creep, fatigue, triaxial on unbound materials and under load or displacement control. The system is said by Controls to have a user-friendly interface which allows the operator to
Engcon improves tilt-rotator design
Engcon has introduced a new range of tilt-rotators, using a cast housing to greatly increase capacity.
The EC218 and EC226 replace the EC15 and EC20 respectively. The former is suitable for machines up to 18tonnes in operating weight, while the latter is designed for excavators up to 26 tonnes. The cast housing incorporates internal lubrication channels for centralised greasing, reducing the risk of dust ingress or damage while operating. Larger bushes are used to reduce the chance of play in the housing
Jaw dropping performance from mobile crusher
The Kleemann Mobicat MC R jaw crusher is the smallest crusher in the Mobicat range. Weighing approximately 36tonnes, it is relatively transportable, making it ideal for smaller jobs. There is an option to lower the height if required. The crusher is reliable and extremely flexible due to its variable gap width adjustment and the reversible drive enables blockages in the mouth to be removed quickly and easily. The powerful 228kW diesel engine ensures maximum feed capacity of up to 200tonnes per hour, claims
Topcon Sitelink, Loadrite E-Weigh & XGMA expansion in Europe
Topcon’s technology and connectivity equipment for a more efficient work site. Gomaco’s left and right hand paver. Loadrite’s new distributor and board weighing systems. Chinese company XGMA thinks “small” to break into European market.
Fuel saving innovations
Up to a third of fuel consumption in cars is is spent in overcoming friction. However, both fuel consumption and emissions can be reduced by the use of new technology. This news comes from a joint study by the VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and the Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) in USA.
Innovative new technology can reduce friction by anything from 10-80% in various components of a car according to the study. And it should be possible to reduce car fuel consumption and emissions by 18% withi
XGMA show CE-Marked skid steer at INTERMAT
The latest XG30090 skid steer loader from Xiamen XGMA Machinery (known as XGMA) is powered by a 50.8kW Yanmar 4TNV98 engine and has Bosch Rexroth hydraulics. The CE-marked machine has a rated load of 926kg, its 0.5m3 bucket has 24kN of breakout with 30° of rollback and a maximum dump height of 2375mm. Service access is simplified with a forward tilting cab.
