The lighting tower comes with a nine-metre vertical mast tted with energy saving LED lamps, rather than traditional metal halide lights. Jetpatcher UK will allow British local authorities to make "unprecedented" savings when repairing potholes on many of their less congested roads, according to its manufacturer Nu-Phalt. Built for rural highway repairs, theself-contained Jetpatcher clears the pothole using compressed air before applying tack coating and lling the pothole with mixture of aggregate and bitumen. American rock drilling tool maker, Rockmore International, has opened its first manufacturing plant in Europe to serve customers in the emerging Africa and Asia markets. Italian technology company Outset has introduced two additional on-board weighing systems. The Lanx WL is a wireless control unit designed for use on road-going tipper trucks. It provides a real-time display of the net, gross, trailer and tractor axle weights, with an acoustic alarm to prevent overloading. The Lanx HD is intended for use in rigid dump trucks, and is directly installed in the cab. It displays the weight on board, allowing readings for each axle, and memorise round-trips for later download.

French manufacturer Haulotte has reported sales of €89m in the first quarter of 2012, compared with €72.1m for the same period last year. It is said to deliver a significant improvement in fuel efficiency compared to traditional mono-grade hydraulic oils. Atlas Copco, which is opening a new competence centre in Europe, is to move a divisional headquarters to China and has also hinted at further acquisitions. The new Atlas Copco Generator Competence Centre in Zaragoza, Spain, is scheduled to be in full operation by 2013, and is subject to final approval by local authorities. The decision to launch the centre for generators was announced by Atlas Copco’s portable energy division at INTERMAT.
