Model&Co revealed new grouter at INTERMAT

Model&Co, a Spanish manufacturer of foundation engineering equipment, used INTERMAT to launch a fully automatic concrete grout mixer. ith advanced electronics, the new mixer uses a touch-screen control panel for the input of concrete powder ratio and water volumes. It can deliver up to 170litres/min of hydrogenised grout at working pressures of up to 115bar. The mixer drum can also be rotated 95° from its vertical position, to simplify washing out.

Putzmeister’s new self-propelled pump can be quicker than a truck mount

Putzmeister’s new BSC 1409 D self-propelled concrete pump is designed for concreting drilled piles on unfinished surfaces and can deliver up to 85m3/hr at a pressure of up to 71bar. Powered by a 6-cylinder Deutz engine producing 129kW, the BSC 1409 D can travel at a maximum speed of 3.6km and does not need supports to be set up each time it moves.

A new loan will aid construction of a major link in Albania

In Albania the government is giving its approval for an €80 million (US$104.4 million) loan being provided by the European Investment Bank (EIB). Q-Free wins frame agreement in Spain

Just two days after announcing that it had been awarded two AutoPass tolling contracts, valued at over US$5 million, by the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, Q-Free yesterday announced that the company has won a frame agreement for deliveries of tolling tags (OBUs) from the Spanish operator, Abertis. A new highway project is underway in China

A financial package worth US$793 million is being provided by Chinese firm CDB Leasing for a highway project expansion programme in China’s Henan province. Henan currently has 5,196km of highways in use. The plan is to expand the network to more than 6,600km in 2015.

New tolled highway for Indonesia

In Indonesia Jasa Marga is planning to build a 27km toll road project, which links Padang, West Sumatra's provincial capital with Sicincin district in 2012. Negotiations are underway between a number of contractors and the toll-road operator for the Padang toll road work. Cost savings on the cement supply operation should help reduce overall costs of the project. An investment of US$142 million is required for the toll road project.

First phase of Houston reversible HOV to HOT lanes completed

Road repairs will revamp the ring road around St Petersburg

Repair work is now planned on the first section of the St Petersburg ring road. The work will be carried out from Gorskaya to Primorskoe in 2013. Design work is underway at present. The 24km road will be widened to six lanes and the road structure will be revamped. The repair will end in 2015 and will cost some US$373 million. Work on the interchange in Bronka will commence in 2013 as well.

C-series CX470 excavator takes centre stage on Case’s INTERMAT stand

A 6% increase in lift capacity, greater digging efficiency, reduced emissions and up to 5% lower fuel consumption are the benefits of Case’s new CX470C excavator. The 47 to 50tonne machine has a 9.8litre Stage IIIB engine delivering 270kW at 2,000rpm which contributes to a 5% increase in fuel efficiency and 5% faster cycle times. Some of the savings come from a Boom Economy Control, which automatically reduces engine revs and hydraulic power to the boom when speed and power are not a priority.

JCB announces record results for 2011

JCB CEO Alan Blake has reported record financial results for the UK machinery manufacturer. Turnover in 2011 rose to €3.33bn, 37% up on 2010, with earnings before tax of €430m from sales of 69,100 machines. Speaking at INTERMAT, Blake said: “The market has recovered by 80% since the last INTERMAT, mainly thanks to emerging markets. Russia is up 122%, India 24% and Brazil 10%. However, Western Europe has also improved, up 25% on last year.”

Kapsch TrafficCom wins $355 million nationwide ETC system in Belarus

JCB adds to Stage IIIB wheeled loader line

JCB has introduced two additional Stage IIIB-powered wheeled loaders, the 427 and the 437. Epec offers complete control

Epec is hoping to be a controlling influence at INTERMAT. The Finnish firm’s managing director, Jouni Matikainen, said the 32-bit processor and increased calculating power of the new 5050 control unit for mobile construction machines had created a “very powerful” unit. Matikainen said that all Epec’s range of control units, including the new 2024 model being exhibited at the show, have been made to cope with extreme application conditions, including dust-heavy mining.

Police said to be considering pursuing landmark corporate manslaughter charge against highways authority
