Epiroc is expanding its production facilities in Germany to meet growing demand for its products

The German demolition attachment specialist Epiroc is carrying out a major expansion of production sites in Thuringia. The firm is tripling its manufacturing space and increasing its workforce by 50%.

The investment has been see in its production facilities at its Dermbach and Barchfeld sites. This move will address the growing demand for high-quality hydraulic excavator attachments, including drum cutters, grapples, pulverisers, grabs, and compactors. In parallel, the workforce at these locations has grown by approximately 50%.

Both Epiroc and the Erkat brand it bought in 2017 manufacture products at these sites. Erkat’s drum cutting technology is a key segment of Epiroc’s future strategy and will be strengthened by the expanded production capacities. A key focus of the expansion is sustainable energy supply. The new production facilities are powered by solar roofing.

“The decision to expand production capacities in Thuringia highlights our long-term commitment to the region,” explained Torsten Ahr, managing director of Epiroc’s German production sites. “The team’s innovative strength and flexibility are decisive factors for our location.”
