Construction is underway in the Czech Republic for the new I/12 bypass road linking Bchovice with Úvaly. Costing €165.3 million, the 12.6km road will feature 23 new bridges and is located in Central Bohemia. Work is being carried out for the first of these bridges at present. The new route is due to open for traffic in 2028 at the same time as the connection with the Prague Ring Road.
The new road stretch will also feature six interchanges. Once the project is complete, it will help to improve traffic flow both in and around the Czech capital.
The new road will feature three lanes in either direction, providing increased capacity over the earlier stretch. A 600m section of noise barrier is being built along one of the sections of the road, to minimise disturbance to local residents and businesses.
