A wide array of new demolition tools are now coming to market, suiting an array of tasks. Meanwhile, firms are also improving existing products or offering improved support and warranties.
The latest demolition attachments will help contractors deliver work more efficiently. These units can be utilised for an array of tasks from breaking to material sizing and processing.
Suited for crushing and screening demolition material onsite, the new tool from Allu is said to be reliable and productive. The firm says that the unit is even able to handle material that would typically cause slowdowns and rejections. It can be used on sites featuring limited space to process materials including reinforced concrete, bricks and asphalt.
Suited to use on excavators in the 25-45tonne range, the unit is even able to process feed material containing rebar. The bucket is equipped with a changeable counter-blade setup that allows output sizes ranging from either 0-50mm or 0-100mm. The bucket can process up to 100tonnes/hour and has a maximum feed size of 300mm.
Epiroc is offering the extended warranty on certain excavator attachments that are equipped with the firm’s HATCON system, the digital telematics module allowing real-time monitoring of operating data. These units will be delivered with an extended warranty covering 36 months or up to 3,000 hours depending on product range, whichever occurs first. The warranty applies to Epiroc Combi Cutters, Concrete Busters, Bulk and Demolition Pulverizers and Hydraulic Compactors. It also includes all transverse drum cutters and V Cutters manufactured by Epiroc and Erkat, provided they are equipped with the HATCON system.
The system provides transparency into operating hours, load and utilisation patterns and required service intervals. Epiroc InSite is an integrated digital support platform, offering insight into attachment performance. The system assists operators and fleet managers with maintenance planning, early issue detection, and improved cost predictability.
From Italian firm Indeco comes a powerful and productive IDC crusher unit. The IDC 70 is the largest tool in Indeco’s primary demolition crusher line-up and is said to deliver a high power to weight ratio, as well as long working life.
The unit has a maximum working pressure of 350bar. With its maximum jaw opening of 1800mm, jaw depth of 1300mm, width of 610mm and a cutter blade depth of 200mm, the IDC70 can be used for challenging demolition works, even at height on a long reach machine. The unit features full 360° rotation with its dual motor as well as steel protection for the piston rods and Indecobite interchangeable teeth. The machine body is made of special extra-strength HARDOX alloy steel to eliminate any flexing under heavy use.
Ensuring full connectivity, the Indeconnect system uses 4G technology for a wireless link to the network. Operators can connect with a cloud-based web platform from mobile devices, via an app or from a PC. The package allows operators to view data transmitted in real time by each installed device, including working hours, working position, hydraulic oil temperature, ambient temperature and GPS position.
Also from Italy, MB Crusher says that its new rock crusher attachment suits use with skid steer loaders or compact tracked loaders. The MB-T150 is the first attachment from the firm that is designed specifically for use with skid steer loaders or compact tracked loaders.
According to MB Crusher, skid steer loaders or compact tracked loaders are used widely for secondary tasks onsite but may be unused for long periods.. When not used, the skid steer loaders or compact tracked loaders can sit idle until needed.
The advantage of this new rock crusher attachment is that it allows the site manager to boost utilisation of skid steer loaders or compact tracked loaders. Instead of standing unused, these machines can now be employed for mineral sizing duties. The product can then be used for fill or sub-base layers, without having to transport and process material off-site, saving time fuel, and manpower. The MB-T150 can be fitted onto a skid steer in just a few minutes and can rotate 360 degrees while pulverising material.
Continuing the Italian connection, Simex says that its ART 1000 attachment provides an effective solution for the rapid, effective and sustainable repair of minor road damage. This planing system can be fitted to machines such as skid steer loaders, compact tracked loaders or compact wheeled loaders to carry out quick surface repairs. The material produced can then be collected for use as RAP in asphalt production.
The firm says that its proven ART 1000 is now ready for widespread adoption, both in the Italian market and internationally, offering a concrete response to the growing demand for efficient and environmentally responsible road-maintenance and materials recycling solutions.
