BOMAG’s latest pneumatic compactor is the BW 18 RH model which slots into the range between the existing BW 11 RH-5 and the top-of-the-line BW 28 RH. Weighing in at 8.5tones without ballast, the machine features a maximum operating weight of 18tonnes when fully loaded.
This model offers a compaction width of 2.045m and suits fine finishing work or chip-seal applications. Power comes from a Deutz diesel, rated at 55kW and meeting Tier 4 Final/Stage V emissions requirements. Customers have a choice of Dunlop or Michelin tyres as standard, depending on market requirements.
The cab is said to be spacious, with a good all-round view, and a rear-view camera to make reversing easier. Operation is made more efficient due to the BOMAP compaction system. The pressurised water-sprinkler system feed from a 340litre tank allows increased operating time without need to refill. The BOMAG Telematic system helps ensure maximum uptime and optimises maintenance schedules.
