Plans are in hand in the US state of California to upgrade Interstate 5 in Sacramento County. The plans are being discussed by Caltrans.
The work will involve widening the route in a bid to cut the congestion that occurs during peak periods. The plan is to add two additional lanes in the southbound direction. In addition, car pool and toll lanes are likely to be added.
