The motorway connections around Casablanca in Morocco will benefit from US$504 million for upgrade works. The improvements will focus on the connections to the new Grand Stadium of Casablanca. This is being constructed for the 2030 football World Cup, as some of the games will be played at the facility.
A portion of the funding for the work is being provided by the Société Nationale des Autoroutes du Maroc (ADM), Morocco’s national road management authority, as well as from the Regional Council. However, the majority of the funding will be provided by the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Equipment and Water. The project has been approved by the Regional Council of Casablanca-Settat and the work is being managed by a committee set up for the purpose.
