US$4.4 billion of works are being planned for India for two major road projects. One of the projects is for the 75km toll road that will cost up to $3 billion in Bengaluru. The tender process for the project is opening and is for a Design, Build, Finance, Operate, and Transfer concession package. The 50-year tolled concession for the Bengaluru Business Corridor is to be carried out under the PPP model. The Peripheral Ring Road (PRR) project will have four lanes in either direction and is being managed by the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA).

The Indian Government is to provide a further $792.4 million to help develop roads close to the country’s border with China. This is in addition to the $609.5 million previously given to the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) for the 2023-2024 financial year. Tensions between India and China have been simmering for a number of years and the funding package for roads is intended to help strengthen India’s presence in the border region.
