Hamm is expanding on its proven Smart Compact Basic technology with a new system allowing greater automation of asphalt-compaction processes.
The latest innovation is a system allowing asphalt-density measurement in real time. The new Realtime Density Scan package is part of the Smart Compact Pro system. It allows automated regulation of compaction energy and compaction modes in both drums of the HD+ and HX series tandem rollers.
This system allows a roller driver to monitor mat density in real time, even during static compaction. Smart Compact Pro means that asphalt density can be monitored over the entire construction site, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and reducing the risks of financial penalties for areas not meeting specifications. The firm says that using Smart Compact Pro can save compaction costs and help ensure a longer service life for paved surfaces.
