Develon says that its new DX23E-7 electric mini excavator is both productive and quiet. Featuring an enclosed cab, the DX23E-7 offers a battery capacity of 32kWh, said to be bigger than its competitors. And there is an additional version with an even higher battery capacity of 40kWh.
The DX23E-7 has all of the electrical systems and components on the machine optimised for work in harsh environments. As well as the alternative 40 kWh battery pack, the DX23ZE-7 also offers the option of quick coupler piping for work with attachments.
With the standard 32 kWh capacity unit, the machine offers a runtime of around eight hours, depending on the application. It offers a charging time of 6 hours to reach 100% using 3-6kW charge points 1.5 hours with 150kW fast charging.
The DX23E-7 offers better performance than the diesel Develon DX19-7 it is based on, with a 5% higher lifting capacity, as well as better stability. Fitting the electric system involved removing the frame cross plate from the DX19-7 and allowing an extra 35mm at the rear for the battery pack installation.
With no diesel requiring engine oil or filter changes, periodic maintenance duties is lower in the DX23ZE-7 compared to the DX19-7 diesel excavator. Only hydraulic-related maintenance at 1000 hour intervals is required.
Retractable tracks allow the new DX23ZE-7 electric excavator to pass through narrow passages, suiting it for working in confined spaces or indoor applications. Once the excavator reaches the work area, the operator can expand the tracks for better stability and lifting capacity.
Telematics is standard on the DX23E-7 mini-excavator. Operators and dealers can remotely monitor their machine’s health, location and productivity from an app or website. Telematics can help owners minimise theft and allow for machine tracking, avoid unauthorised use of the machine, see when maintenance is due, customise alerts to a user’s schedule, track oil pressure and operating temperature and use data to train operators.
The DX23E-7 has a 16kW electric motor, weighs 2.2tonnes for the 32kWh version and 2.3tonnes for the 40kWh version. Maximum digging depth is 2,340mm, maximum digging reach is 3,940mm and maximum loading height is 2,440mm.
