Marlborough Highways has secured a major new £150 million highways term maintenance contract with West Berkshire Council. The contract starts on 1st October 2026 for an initial seven-year period with the option to extend for a further three years.
Marlborough will deliver reactive and planned highway maintenance, winter maintenance, capital improvement schemes, street lighting, safety schemes, active travel programmes, as well as support highways asset management. The deal also involves working to reduce emissions, improve resource efficiency, minimise waste, support biodiversity, and introduce lower-impact materials, methods and technologies wherever possible. This approach will help support more sustainable highways maintenance across West Berkshire while maintaining a safe, reliable and high-quality service for residents.
The partnership includes a strong focus on social value, giving the business a chance for local employment, apprenticeship and skills opportunities, as well as community engagement initiatives.
Joseph Revell, Director of Marlborough Highways, said: “We are incredibly proud to begin this new partnership with West Berkshire Council. This is a significant contract for Marlborough Highways and reflects the trust placed in our people, our processes and the consistently high standard of our work.”
“Our focus will be on delivering a safe, reliable and high-quality service for residents, while creating meaningful local opportunities and supporting the Council’s long-term priorities.”
