An innovative electric road is being planned in Trondheim in Northern Norway. A 40km stretch of road is being equipped with technology that will allow inductive charging. This will be one of the first long stretches of road featuring inductive charging systems, although some short trial stretches have been developed.
The road will feature copper coils and technology supplied by an Israeli firm, Electreon. Other technology for the installation is coming from Infineon. The system will be able to supply up to 300kW once it is commissioned.
