A new $167 million road project will boost transport to and from Angola’s Mussulo Peninsula. The project has been approved by the Angolan Government and is for a 39km stretch of road between Mussulo and the Angolan capital, Luanda. The work forms part of Angola’s National Development Plan for the 2023-2027 period.
The new link will boost transport for the peninsula, which relies on ferries and a 67km road at present. The new link will help develop the peninsula, a nature reserve known for its many beaches for tourism.
In addition, the Ministry of Public Works, Urban Planning and Housing is announcing plans to widen the coastal route National Road 100 in the south of Angola. This project will boost transport between Cabo Ledo and Ramiros, cutting overall journey times from Luanda to the country’s southern and central provinces.
