Plans are in hand in Florida for a new 24.4km toll road link designed to alleviate congestion in parts of Orange County and Osecola County. The project is expected to cost nearly $1.6 billion to construct and is being managed by the Central Florida Expressway Authority(CFX). The new SR 534 link will run between Nova Road in St Cloud and SR 417, close to Boggy Creek.
Construction is expected to commence in 2027 and the project will provide an alternative route accessing Orlando International Airport. The route will help alleviate congestion on Narcoosee Road, Boggy Creek and Cyrils Drive. However, there are some environmental concerns about the planned alignment as part of it passes through Split Oak Forest.
