In Israel a major road tunnel contract has now been awarded. The package of works is for the construction of roads and tunnel stretches in Jerusalem.
The project will be handled by local firm Electra. The project is worth some US$129.5 million. Included in the work will be the construction of four tunnel sections featuring a total length of 3.5km.
Building the new tunnel stretches will help reduce the congestion that occurs on the northern side of Jerusalem at peak periods. The package of works was awarded by the Moriah Jerusalem Development Corporation.
