The tender process is still underway for three sections of the new super highway project to connect Nagpur and Mumbai in India. Meanwhile 10 of the contracts for the Nagpur-Mumbai Super Communication Expressway (NMSCE) have now been awarded. The NMSCE highway project will provide an improved transport link between Nagpur and Mumbai, which are around 690km apart. The NMSCE highway is expected to cost a total of US$6.8 billion to construct.
Megha Engineering was awarded two stretches of the NMSCE route, for the Nagpur Package 1 and Aurangabad East Package 9. A contract worth $258.4 million was awarded by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) to Dilip Buildcon for part of the NMSCE. Other contractors that have won contracts to build sections of the route are; APCO, BSCPL, Gayatri Projects, Larsen & Toubro (L&T), MonteCarlo, NCC, PNC Infratech, Reliance Infrastructure, Sadbhav Engineering, Wardha Afcons.
