Hyundai unveiled the first models of its Next Generation HX crawler excavators to be available in the North American market. The redesigned machines boast enhanced comfort, advanced technologies and increased fuel efficiency.
The HX crawler excavators now come standard with a Hyundai engine that brings improved fuel efficiency. And, more robust booms are now fully electric hydraulic, providing more precise control for operators. The undercarriage is also thicker, making the machines more rugged and long-lasting.
In terms of comfort and safety, the HX crawler excavators come with a completely redesigned cab with more ergonomic controls and larger windows. New straight travel pedals make it easier to move the machines longer distances, providing skid-steer-like controls in the excavator. In addition, updated rear and 360-degree camera views are paired with radar technology for better object and person detection that can trigger autonomous actions to avoid collisions.
Smart intelligence also lets operators set boundaries and limits in movement for safety reasons – limiting boom swing in a tight space or depth if digging a utility trench, for example. New lift-assist technology can warn operators if they are unbalanced or in danger of becoming unbalanced based on current conditions.
