Webuild’s US subsidiary Lane Construction has delivered a key highway project in Central Florida, ahead of schedule. Part of the Florida’s Turnpike widening project, 11km of new lanes have been completed for a stretch of the Florida Turnpike almost three years ahead of schedule.
The firm says that the delivery of the project so far ahead of schedule was achieved through a strategic reorganisation of activities, which the firm is applying across ongoing works. The company has shifted from a traditional sequential construction approach to adopt a modular and parallel team-management model. This helps to cut timelines while ensuring supply flows through mobile logistics hubs.
In addition to the new lanes between the Minneola Interchange and O’Brien Road, the project introduced new access ramps at US 27 to ease congestion during peak hours and upgraded safety and drainage systems – an essential element for enhancing the road network’s resilience against the extreme weather typical of the area.
