Emergency repairs will be carried out in the US state of Florida in the wake of the recent Hurricane Ian, which caused extensive damage. The budget for the work is being supplied by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).

A budget of US$50 million is being supplied in funding for Emergency Relief (ER). Included in the programme of repairs will be bridges and highways damaged by the hurricane.

Hurricane Ian was a Category 4 hurricane with storm surges of more than 3m high in places. Numerous road sections and causeways were damaged in Florida by the force of the hurricane.
