Construction is underway in China on a key stretch of the G109 highway linking Beijing and Lhasa. Work for the stretch of the G109 highway between Shuiquan and Fanjiayao is costing US$767 million.
Construction of this 71km section of the G109 highway is expected to take three years to complete. The highway will feature a speed limit of 80km/h.
