Financing worth $911 million is being secured for Colombia’s Buga-Buenaventura road project. The package is being provided by a group headed by JP Morgan and including IFC, IDB Invest, Bancolombia, BBVA, Financiera de Desarrollo Nacional (FDN) and Bancóldex.
Improving the road link between Buga and Buenaventura will provide an important transport route. This will reduce journey times to and from the port of Buenaventura, boosting the economy of Colombia’s South West region.
The project has been managed by Colombia’s National Infrastructure Agency, ANI. The project is expected to cost $1.145 billion to build and $647 million to operate and maintain.
