Transport in Nicaragua is to benefit from a funding package worth $230 million being provided by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI). The projects will help deliver a much-needed economic boost for the Central American nation.
Building work is due to commence for the 12km Estelí Bypass in November 2026. The $50 million project will be for two-lane, concrete road and the project includes building a new bridge, four intersections and eight box culverts. Other works will be a for a 6km stretch of road at El Guasaule and a 12km stretch of road at Las Manos.
And construction work will start on the 13km Diriamba-Jinotepe bypass in October 2026. This project is expected to cost $33 million. Funding is also being provided by CABEI.
