The work involves widening and improving a 52km section of the route so that it features three lanes in either direction. The project is being handled by the Tasnim Projects Company and the stretch runs between Al Kamil and the Wilayat of Sur. Also included in the work will be maintenance and upgrades to the existing route between the Bilad Sur roundabout and Sur Plaza Hotel so that this 3km section features two lanes in either direction.
