WJ Group has secured a place on the UK’s NEPO210 Highways Surfacing Works Framework. The firm achieved first place on Lot 14 for hot-applied surface patching repair. WJ has also secured positions on Lot 5 hot-applied high friction surfacing, Lot 6 cold-applied high friction surfacing and Lot 16 road markings.
The NEPO210 framework was established by NEPO on behalf of the Association of North East Councils and provides a route for local authorities and public sector organisations across the UK to procure reactive surfacing and surface treatment works. The framework allows WJ to mobilise from regional depots, with consistent national standards.
WJ says it can deliver fast, durable surface defect repairs and road marking renewals in a single visit. The company can carry out pothole repairs, patching, and line marking with one vehicle under one traffic management arrangement. This reduces disruption, cost and carbon output. WJ uses BBA/HAPAS approved hot-applied repair systems that cure quickly, bond to the existing surface and provide a long-lasting repair. Proven in heavy traffic and high-stress locations, they are said to perform reliably across a range of asphalt surfaces. WJ is able to repair defects and apply two colours of thermoplastic markings from a single vehicle.
Nick Holt, managing director at WJ North, said: “Securing first place for hot-applied surface patching repair on NEPO210 confirms the strength of our surface defect repair offering. Our focus is on completing as much work as possible within a single closure, repairing the surface and renewing road markings in one operation.
