Sweco and Galliford Try will handle two major road upgrade projects in the UK jointly. The work is worth £435 million in all and involves upgrading the A47 that connects Peterborough with Norwich and also the A303 route between Ilchester and Sparkford. Engineering consultancy Sweco will be acting as chief designer and Galliford Try as lead contractor. The contracts form part of Highways England’s£8.7 billion Regional Delivery Partnerships framework.
The contracts follow Sweco’s appointment to the £8.7 billion programme last November, which forms part of the Government’s new six-year Routes to Market programme, with contractors selected for eight regional lots across two bands.
