Engcon says that its new DC3 next-generation control system is compatible with Caterpillar Next Gen wheeled excavators. In addition to the crawler excavators, the Caterpillar M314 NG–M322 NG models support rapid installation of engcon tiltrotators.
This is made possible by engcon’s DC3 control system combined with Cat’s Software Enabled Attachment (SEA) technology. DC3 is the next-generation control system for engcon tiltrotators, built on a new hardware and software platform. It simplifies installation with machine-manufacturer interfaces compared to traditional aftermarket solutions.
According to engcon, this development reflects a wider industry trend as OEMs are increasingly enabling easier availability of advanced attachments. Solutions of this type play a critical role in increasing market penetration and unlocking new levels of machine utilisation and efficiency. The ability to use all included functionalities makes digging much more efficient and saves time for the excavator operator.
