Plans are being drawn up for a series of road repairs in Puerto Rico. The Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTOP) in Puerto Rico has set a budget to spend around US$200 million on road works.
The US Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) provided $400 million for repairing damage to Puerto Rico’s roads, ports and infrastructure caused by Hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017 as well as the earthquakes that hit the island early in 2020.
Key projects are being prioritised at the moment. Tenders will open for 25 projects shortly, while a further 17 projects are being planned and will have tenders opening later in the year.
