National Pile Croppers (NPC) is introducing its latest model range in the US through its partner in North America, Pinnacle Drilling.
The NPC Quad series is the latest technology from the firm, with the Quad 600 cropper having been proven for reducing augured (round) piles up to 600mm diameter. The Quad 600 features four powerful, synchronised rams with specially designed blades to give a superb pile cut. Additionally, the cropper will also hold the cut pile section safely for removal to a designated safe area.
The NPC units suit use on piles with debonded reinforcement bars and the Quad 600 design benefits from a small footprint to enable access into tight spaces. The Quad 600 can also be used to reduce contiguous and secant piled walls with spacing as close as 100mm. Also in the range is the Quad Large 750 cropper which can be used to reduce contiguous and secant piled walls with spacing as close as 150mm. The Quad XL 1000 cropper is designed to be used for the reduction of augured (round) piles up to 900mm diameter and can also be used to reduce contiguous and secant piled walls with spacing as close as 150mm.
The NPC pile cropper works with a hydraulic connection between the excavator and the pile cropper via quick release fittings on excavators (generally ranging from 13-30tonnes). The excavator lifts the pile cropper over the pile and addresses the first pile cut at 300mm from the top of the concrete pile, with the cropper being powered via the excavator. The four blades of the cropper then connect with the pile in sync, enabling cutting of the pile and then removal of manageable sections.
