New Italian transport infrastructure works are being planned in the Liguria and Puglia regions.

In Liguria a plan costing €10.3 billion is being proposed for transport infrastructure improvement and development works. Road and rail upgrades would be carried out if the plan is approved by Italy’s Ministry of Infrastructures and Transports (MIT). Funding would be delivered through Italy’s central government if the plans are approved.

In Puglia the tender process is underway for work to the SS89 Garganica and SS106 Jonica routes. A budget of €740 million has been set, with €395 million being used for work on the SS89 route and €346 million being used for the SS106 route. The tender processes for the projects are being managed by Italian road concession firm ANAS.
