Moog Construction says that its latest modular electric-power technology offers an effective solution for powering construction machines. Because the system is modular, it is highly versatile and can be adapted to suit the needs of a wide array of different construction machine types, as well as sizes.
The modular power systems are already being proven in several construction applications and with machine-rental firms, as well as on equipment from different OEMs. But the latest development from Moog Construction takes the technology further because it offers highly efficient power management. Moog Construction has applied for a patent for its AEMS package which simplifies the electrical installation.
According to the firm, standard electric-power installations require numerous systems and complex wiring connections. However, the new AEMS package is 30% smaller and has 50% fewer components than standard systems, as well as providing a 30% cost saving. Highly sophisticated, the AEMS package can carry out machine health diagnostics as well as monitoring performance, with data being downloaded remotely for effective fleet management and maintenance scheduling.
