Mexico has set a major programme of infrastructure development, which is currently in progress for Puebla State. In all the budget for the programme is US$1.35 billion, with the work having been planned by the Mexican Secretariat of Communications and Transport (SCT) for the 2012-2018 period.
Work the Puebla Bypass has cost $85 million and is expected to improve transport for San Pedro Cholula, San Andres Cholula and Atlixco. The Siglo XXI highway should be complete shortly and is costing $91.5 million, while it will improve transport between the city of Puebla and the Morelos area, to the south of Mexico City. Another bypass stretch being built at present will improve transport around La Galarxa and Amatitlanes and should be completed during the third quarter of 2018.
