Caterpillar’s innovative new AI tool offers users an easy way to integrate a range of smart technologies. Designed for use with construction machines, this novel tool allows fast and easy integration of technologies such as the Cat Grade machine control systems and the VisionLink telematics package.
Users are able to access data quickly through a common dashboard, without having to use multiple applications. This provides a faster way to generate reports on fleet productivity or monitor equipment utilisation or maintenance needs. The company believes that this will make using technology simpler and more efficient.
Also new from Caterpillar comes an array of new machines including equipment for the utility and earthmoving segments.
The 301 CR mini excavator weighs in a 1.2tonnes and is a versatile unit with tracks that can be narrowed for passing through tight spaces and widened for stability when working. The new 253 compact tracked loader slots into the range between the 249 and 255 models and is a 4tonne machine with a 54kW engine with a choice of the high end cab or more basic canopy variants.
The 319 CR excavator is a compact radius machine for the 19tonne class that slots into the range between Cat’s existing 15tonne and 25tonne class models. Designed for versatility, the 319 can be used in applications such as road works alongside live traffic and is available with a two piece boom and tilt rotator, allowing it to use a wide array of work tools.
For the earthmoving sector, Caterpillar is introducing the new Cat D8 XE, a diesel electric drive dozer featuring the firm’s trademark high drive system. This retains the proven differential steer and single motor system, while sharing many parts with the conventional D8 dozer. And also for the earthmoving segment are the latest Next Generation 150 and 160 graders, which are available with a wide array of options to suit customer requirements.
