Work is due to commence on an important highway project for France in the third quarter of 2021. The work is for the North-West intercommunal link (Lino) project. Approval for the work has been given by the authorities in the city of Lille.
Building this link will help improve transport in Northern France, boosting connectivity with neighbouring Belgium, as well as improving traffic safety in the area. The work is being handled in three phases over a 12km stretch, with the first section measuring 5km. A new interchange will be built on the A25 route as part of the project, which is costing €85 million.
