Costain’s road upgrades for the UK

Costain has been selected to deliver the next generation of road upgrades as part of the Eastern Highways Alliance (EHA) Framework, EHF4.

The Framework covers a range of civil engineering and construction works across the EHA road network. This includes highways improvements such as road surfacing and asset management, and infrastructure works involving bridges, subways and cycle lanes.

Costain has been awarded a place on lot 3 of the Framework. The overall Framework is worth a total of £800 million over a minimum of four years, with an option to extend by two years.

The EHA is a collaboration between 11 local authorities in the East of England and managed by Central Bedfordshire Council. It serves more than five million residents across Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Kent, Central Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

Costain is a long-term partner to National Highways and earlier this year it completed the construction of 41 emergency areas on the M1 ahead of schedule. Costain is also providing specialist technical engineering advice to National Highways under its Specialist Professional and Technical Services Framework (SPaTS3).
