Command Alkon is celebrating 50 years in business by moving its batch software to the cloud. Now, batch operators can monitor and control batching from multiple plants from a single, web-based platform accessible from the office, home or on site.
According to Lori Allen, the company’s vice president of Marketing, Command Cloud Batch has been rolled out for more than 100 customers – seven of which are early adopters and have fully moved to the cloud. General availability will be some time in 2026.
Moving from on-premise to the cloud enables secure, remote control of concrete production while maintaining critical, real-time plant controls. A single operator can view operations across multiple plants, providing much needed visibility and collaboration across disparate locations that keep supply chains moving – especially critical for large construction projects. Command Cloud Batch also delivers actionable insights to operators that can help reduce material waste, minimise deviations and prevent rejected loads.
Customers can also add Batch AI to Command Cloud Batch to better analyse real-time plant data – such as material-flow rate, moisture level and batching times. The system then automatically adjusts material-feed rates in real time to optimise yield. Unlike traditional batching, Batch AI adapts to real-world conditions, ensuring every load meets spec while reducing over- and under-yielding loads.
