The financing includes loans and funds and is being provided jointly by Colombia’s national development bank Financiera de Desarrollo Nacional (FDN), Spain’s Official Credit Institute (Instituto de Credito Oficial) and debt funds Ashmore-Caf and Blackrock. The 137km highway project will see the upgrade of an existing link connecting Colombia’s Casanare Department, Cundinamarca Department and Boyaca Department. The project will not be without its technical challenges as the route also involves upgrades to 53 bridges and 15 road tunnels.
