CEMEX is supplying high resistance and Vertua lower-carbon concrete for a new highway in southern Tamaulipas State, Mexico. The highway connects Ciudad Mante, Tula, and Ocampo to the central regions of the country. This project also includes the construction of a 3.3km tunnel, set to become one of the largest in Mexico.
This highway, expected to be completed in 2025, will connect three cities and significantly improve mobility across regions. Out of a planned total supply of 176,000m3, Cemex has delivered 80,000m3 of high-resistance and Vertua lower-carbon concretes. Due to the size of the project, two CEMEX plants operate 24 hours a day and are fully dedicated to supporting this continuous construction process.
The project is led by Calzada Construcciones and Construcciones y Dragados del Sureste, both subsidiaries of Grupo Hycsa.
