Azerbaijan continues to develop its road infrastructure. The country is spending heavily on developing the road network in a bid to help grow the economy. The importance of growing the road network has been seen as a priority for development to help boost economic activity.
In 2019 Azerbaijan spent US$ 1.09 billion on road construction projects. This represents an increase of 7.9% on the road construction spending in 2018.
So far over 1,377km of Azerbaijan’s roads have been repaired or upgraded. In addition, 14 new bridges have now been added to the network.
