Road repairs are required in many areas in rural Australia. A combination of neglect and extreme weather has resulted in many rural roads becoming severely deteriorated. Extensive maintenance works are required in many areas to reconnect rural areas. The issue poses problems for Australia’s agricultural sector as well as the extraction industries.
A budget of US$3.68 billion (A$5.5 billion) is being asked for by the Rural Road Alliance (RRA) for repairs to rural roads. This would be supplied by Australia’s Federal Government.
