Further funding is needed to complete road projects underway in Gabon. Four major road projects are being carried out in Gabon at present and an additional $276 million is required for the works to be carried out fully.
The Gabon Government is investigating potential funding sources at present. A 109km road is being built between Tchibanga and Mayumba and a 91km road connecting Ndendé and Tchibanga. However, work was stopped on these projects by Chinese firm Covec due to a shortage of funding.
A 63km is planned to connect Nsilé and Bifoun while a 56km road will link Bifoun and Ndjolé. Insufficient funds and construction delays have hampered completion of the work.
