Steelwrist says that its new SQ40 quick coupler offers increased versatility and efficiency for heavy-duty applications such as demolition. The new SQ40 automatic coupler can be used on compact excavators and allows for quick changes of high flow-powered work tools.
This is said to offer the same efficiency as the existing, larger SQ couplers. The new SQ40 is said to make it easier to change powered work tools without an operator having to leave the cab. The SQ40 unit is now available as a fully automatic machine coupler for use with compact excavators.
The SQ technology allows a user to connect both hydraulics and electrical signals in one movement. With the introduction of the new SQ40 size Steelwrist’s product range includes eight different SQ quick coupler models (SQ40-SQ90), for excavators from 2-70tonnes. The new SQ40 is specifically designed for the growing segment of compact excavators from 2-7tonnes.
Extensive development ensures that the new SQ40 automatic coupler allows the flow required to power demanding hydraulic work tools. The SQ40 coupler is optimised to achieve a flow of 70litres/min thanks to a new and innovative coupling that provides 40% more flow area compared to a standard coupling.
The SQ40 follows the S40 standard so it is compatible with existing work tools without requiring costly modifications. Its modular construction enables fast upgrades from S to SQ, with simplified hose routing and easy installation of male couplings integrated into the rear tool shaft. This also means that hose routing is flexible and can be adapted to a wide range of hydraulic work tools.
