Over US$6 billion is required to fund construction for the final seven stretches of Indonesia’s massive Trans Sumatra Highway (JTTS). The JTTS route extends nearly 3,000km, with around 1,235km so far having been built.

The most costly stretch of the route will connect Betung, Tempino and Jambi. The project is being managed by Hutama Karya, Indonesia’s state-owned road company.

Construction of the JTTS is intended to improve transport and road safety, while boosting economic development. The JTTS is one of Indonesia’s flagship infrastructure works, part of a series of toll road projects.
