The T22-N2W4/W6 wooden and metal safety barrier from French manufacturer Tertu features an attractive half-log design, with a diameter of 22cm and a length of 4m. It is important to note that this safety barrier, which is quick and easy to install, is now available in new models to meet changing needs.
The T22 safety barrier is made of pressure-treated wood with chromium- and arsenic-free preservatives. The spacing between posts is 4m or 2m with wooden spacers 18cm in diameter. The barrier is pre-assembled with metal reinforcement at the rear of the rail. The rail is 70cm above the ground. The classic version of the product is used with hammered supports: N2W6 every 4m and the N2W4 every 2m.
A new model has been introduced for offering a certified alternative with surface mounted posts and more recently the half-log design also has been certified with a motorcyclist protection system. Both new models provide N2W4 performance with 2m post spacing.
For environmental concerns, steel-backed timber guardrails provide an advantageous low-carbon manufacturing footprint: just 3kg of CO₂ eq/ml for instance for the T22 N2W6. A CO₂ equivalent (CO₂e) is a unit of measurement that is used to standardise the climate effects of various greenhouse gases.
All Tertu guardrails have been tested in accordance with the requirements of standards EN 1317 1-2-5 and can be connected with different models and even steel guardrails (EN 1317-10 certified).
