STRABAG’s Polish subsidiary has won two major road projects in Poland worth a total of €147 million.
One of the projects is for planning, modernising and upgrading a stretch of national road DK 25 to a dual-carriageway. The DK25 is a key north-south route connecting the A2 motorway and S11 expressway and is renovation work between Konin and Kokanin. As part of this project, the road will be widened to two lanes in each direction. STRABAG has been awarded an 18km stretch from Zbiersk to Kokanin by the Polish motorway authority, GDDKiA. This section will feature the construction of 11 engineering structures, including six road viaducts, four service viaducts, and one service bridge.
The work will be handled under a design-and-build contract and will boost safety and reduce travel times for drivers. The upgrade will also incorporate wildlife crossings and noise barriers. The project is scheduled for completion in the second half of 2029.
As part of the EU-funded Tram for Łódź urban development initiativ, approximately 130 roads across the city are being reconstructed or modernised. t STRABAG has been awarded the contract to upgrade and modernise Broniewskiego Street between the intersections with Śmigłego-Rydza Avenue and Rzgowska Street. The scope of works includes widening Broniewskiego Street to accommodate tram tracks, modernising tram junctions, and creating dedicated space for cycling infrastructure.
The project will enhance connectivity between residential areas and the city centre, shorten travel and transfer times, and optimise overall traffic flow. Construction is scheduled for completion by the end of 2027.
